Happy with MYOB for 14 years

I'm not sure why some of these reviewers are having such a hard time with AccountEdge. I've used MYOB accounting software with several different types of businesses and found it very intuitive, easy to customize and powerful. I won't comment on every problem mentioned by other reviewers, but here are a few to show that they just don't know what they're talking about.
Kumoito states that the invoice price area is too small. Well use the advanced filter and customize it! Make the price field larger. I love that I can customize my invoices to look any way I want, use any fonts that I have, use, delete or change the size of any data field on the invoice. And I can create as many different invoice or statement designs as I'd like.
I don't know why Mr. Kehoe says that "there's no preferences for setting that payments usually go into a primary bank account, that your billing is usually Net 30, your usual shipping method is UPS Ground." Of course there is. Just go into the Easy Setup Assistant Sales module and enter a default checking account for customer receipts, as well as defaults for terms, shipping method, etc. Or you can set individual defaults for a customer in their card file.
Maybe the people who are complaining about this program just haven't learned how to use it? I've used MYOB for a manufacturing business, a retail store and a personal service business. I have been extremely pleased with it's versatility and the power of having tons of information instantly (and easily) at my fingertips.
I can't comment on the customer service of the company since I haven't needed any product support since 1991. I never had a problem once I initially got up and running with MYOB. AccountEdge 2005 hasn't let me down either. Hopefully customer service is not as bad as mentioned in some of the reviews above... |
