Compatibility problems

Bought this card to add USB 2.0 ports to my laptop
so I would get higher data transfer rates from my
external hard drives.
Bottom line is that the card doesn't work. The drive is
recognized, but Windows is not able to read from it.
The drive works fine on the USB 1.1 ports of the same
laptop and on USB 2.0 ports of a different system.
I also tried a USB stick with this card, and operation
is flaky. Sometimes Windows can access the stick,
sometimes not. Sometimes data transfer is fast,
sometimes not. Very disappointing. |
