An excellent all around card
|
| I bought this specific card last year to replace my aging Voodoo 3500. I chose between this and the All-in-wonder video cards, and I can say that I am happy with my choice. I did briefly own a prior version of the All-in-wonder, and it was a good card, so no bad blood with them, but the package with this video card is nice, and can do quite a bit. First, I wanted an FM receiver on my card like my old voodoo, and this was the only AGP model with it (PCI Express all-in-wonder has one, AGP Does not). I enjoy every so often grabing snipits of radio chatter. Movie playback and clip capture is easy, although it did take a while to get comfortable with navagating the software. I have had no durability issues, and PNY has helped me on a couple of occasions with customer service. Admittedly, PNY had been a company with a variable past record, but what sold me was the Nvidia chip. Nvidia had bought Voodoo a few years back, so the heratige of my old card was in this one. This has video capture capability, from DVD/vcr in or from TV. you can also set this up to record TV as well. In all, just a fun card, no problems. worth strong consideration, often overlooked. |
