Active Light Control circuitry automatically detects the brightness levels of the input signal and adjusts the backlight accordingly, enhancing brightness levels for both light and dark scenes. The result is an expanded dynamic range from black to white peak, with crisp, natural pictures that ensure dynamic viewing. Active System Control works in tandem with active light control to adjust the video signal according to the image contrast, adding greater brightness to bright scenes and more depth to darker ones.

For connections, there is one high-resolution component-video input (D2/YPBPR conversion cable supplied), one S-video input, and a composite-video input with stereo RCA analog audio jacks. A stereo headphone jack fosters private listening, and the monitor also offers a trio of internal stereo speakers with reflex\ bass ports: 1.57-inch left/right speakers and a 2-inch subwoofer (2 watts per channel and 2.5 watts, respectively, with 10 percent THD at the rated power). The monitor includes a standard NTSC tuner and measures 13 x 16.3 x 7.1 inches.
