Doesn't disappoint!!

I first saw the 26" version of this tv at a friend's house. I then decided to research a bit more by checking out Consumer Reports. They gave the tv high marks so I decided to buy it. I've had the Panasonic TC-32LX700 for about two weeks now. Out of the box, the tv is too bright, but I was able to remedy that with a relatively simple calibration using the THX optimizer utility from The Incredibles DVD. The image is soooo great (at both Standard Def and Hi-Def)! As for the sound, I was pretty surprised at just how good the TV sounded. I have it set to about level 12 (out of 63).
It's a shame that this line has been discontinued. I certainly would've considered buying LCDs from them again.
One last thing...I was considering buying some HDMI cables for about $80 until a friend of mine told me not to waste my money. I guess since this is a digital tv any cable will do since image quality is dictated by the error correction built into the signal and not the cable materials themselves. I found some HDMI cables for about $3 bucks that work great! Also, I don't think its worth spending hundreds of dollars to calibrate a tv at this price. You can get a great image by doing it yourself using the Incredibles DVD. Check out PC Magazine's video "How to calibrate your HDTV" for more information on calibration. Just my two cents... |
