RCA RTD260 1000 Watts 5-Disc DVD/CD Home Theatre System with HDMI Sirius Ready description
Bring full movie theater sound to your living room with the affordable, complete RCA RTD258 home theater in a box (HTIB) system, which includes a 5-disc DVD/CD changer and integrated digital AM/FM tuner with 1000 watts of total power and a full set of 5.1-channel surround sound speakers (one center channel, two front left/right, two back left/right, and one subwoofer). The DVD player offers an HDMI connection for uncompressed digital audio and video output and an upconversion feature that produces high-resolution DVD images on compatible HDTVs. It's also Sirius satellite radio ready--just plug in your optional player and enjoy the full spectrum of digital satellite radio.

The DVD player is compatible with standard DVD movie and CD audio discs as well as DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD-R/RW, and (S)VCD disc formats and MP3, WMA, and JPEG digital formats. The five-disc changer allows for simultaneous play and load functionality. Connect most MP3 players, thumbdrives and digital cameras through the front USB jack and enjoy your music or photos from the home theatre system. The component video output provides optimal video quality for viewing DVDs on compatible HDTVs.

The Dolby Digital decoder creates a home theatre experience with up to 5.1 channels of wide band frequency response. The five main discrete channels have a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response. The Dolby ProLogic II surround sound decoder can process two-channel compatible sources (such as standard audio CDs) into full 5.1-channel surround sound. The five main discrete channels have a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response. The 1000-watt total power system breaks down to 167 watts per four surround channels, 167 watts for the center channel, and 167 watts for the subwoofer.

Tech Talk
HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV--all over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced or high definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It supports all ATSC formats--standard (SDTV), enhanced (EDTV), and high (HDTV).

Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound.

What's in the Box
HITB package includes receiver/amplifier with 5-disc DVD/CD changer, one center channel speaker, four satellite speakers (two front, two rear), speaker connectors, one subwoofer, composite A/V cable, AM antenna, remote control (with batteries), printed operating instructions

♥♥♥♥ Lasted only 2 weeks
I bought a "refurbished" unit for my mother-in-law. All she wanted was the CD music and Sirius radio - no DVD or anything else. Felt for this "basic functionality" I was OK with a used unit. Well guess again! Unit totally quit working after only 2 weeks. Does power on then just sits there with a blank screen. You cannot even power it off. Only way to power off is to unplug it. Wow! I am just starting to work though the Customer Service nightmare. Oh, and by the way, "Sirius Ready" means you have to buy an additional $50 receiver for it to work with Sirius.
