♥♥♥♥ Good value and use common sense for installation!
I really wanted to give this 4 1/2 stars (but oh well Amazon).

Cons: The "particle wood"/MDF used is VERY fragile. I had one piece on the edge broken off upon arrival, and I split a piece when I was using the rubber mallet to pound in the carpet spikes. The isolation pads are flat out useless. Saying that they are "self adhesive" is a bit of an exaggeration; they come off with a light breeze, so to speak. Other than these, I have no other real cons.

Pros: The price of $49.99 is great. The finish and look of these things are fantastic for the price. Installation was a relative breeze and took all of 20 minutes total. These things are extremely sturdy and sit rock solid on my carpet. The only addition I plan on making are some velcro strips on the bottom of my smaller speakers to tie them down.

Hints: Install the carpet spikes FIRST using a rubber mallet. This was dumb to not have this as the first installation chore, but advice here and at Crutchfield saved me some frustration. Use toothpicks in the main pillars to align them with the holes in the base and in the top plates. This greatly speeds up installation and makes it almost idiot proof. Also, do take the advice of the instructions and install all screws by hand (i.e., don't use a power screwdriver). As finicky as the MDF is, you'll crack it if you tighten too much or use too much driving torque.

Overall: These stands are great, and I've seen ones that cost about 3 times as much be more poorly constructed and look worse. Definitely worth the money.
