Sony DVP-CX870D 301-Disc DVD/CD/Video-CD Player description The Sony DVP-CX870D is billed as a "mega" CD/DVD changer, and with its 301-disc capacity, the billing fits. The changer quite capably stores and plays your favorite movies and music in a single location, and organizes them via Sony's Disc Explorer management system, which lets you arrange discs by genre, title, or artist name. Even better, Disc Explorer operates via the included Remote Commander control, so you can access and manage your discs from the comfort of the living room sofa. Sony also offers a Jacket Picture feature, which displays the cover art embedded in compatible discs for improved organization. An added bonus is the disc-flip mechanism, which automatically corrects for CDs and DVDs that were inserted backwards, while also accessing both sides of a two-sided DVD. The unit is compatible with audio CDs, Video CDs, and DVDs, while supporting both Dolby Digital and DTS formats with an equipped A/V receiver. It also includes such features as SmoothScan high-speed forward and reverse and SmoothSlow slow-motion forward and reverse, along with a Precision Drive System that plays even flawed discs without skipping. The DVD player offers a number of outputs for component connection, including a component-video output, two S-video outputs, and two composite-video outputs, in addition to two digital outputs (one coaxial and one optical).
