Great LCD TV
|
| I purchased this TV about a month ago and have been very happy with it so far. Amazon.com offered the best price I could find from a store that I trusted. The white glove delivery service was fantastic. The delivery person unpacked my television. I asked him to wait while I examined the TV and ensured it was capable of receiving a signal from my cable box. He patiently waited, and once I saw everything worked, I signed for the TV. There are certainly benefits of purchasing a TV directly from a store, however, in this instance the price was much better from Amazon.com and I understood that once I signed for the TV, it was mine. If I had found defects, I simply wouldn't have signed for the package and would have returned to sender. I'm not sure how that would have gone, but luckily that wasn't necessary. Back to the TV: it has a fantastic picture. The refresh rate is better than 12ms and I haven't noticed any issues. Some people complain about the gray blacks on LCD TV's caused by the required backlight. The Sharp AQUOS offers an enhanced black feature that helps with this problem, however, I felt that it decreased the amount of detail. By taking time to adjust the color settings, I found that the blacks looked pretty good and the details were still visible. All in all, as long as you adjust the picture correctly, I think you'll be very pleased with the picture. I would say the only problem with this TV is that it will motivate you to purchase other high-end video equipment. Personally, I will need to purchase a better DVD player capable of upconverting the image to 720P. For those of you interested in video games, I've played some PS2 games and they look quite good. The image doesn't cover the whole screen (a known issue with the PS2 and widescreen TVs), however, some games are capable of 480P and they look quite good. I'm very interested to see how the next gen systems that support 720P look on the TV! |
