Sony DAV-FC7 Dream Home Theater System with 5-Disc DVD Player description
Looking for a home theater system with more style than bulky black boxes can offer? Do complicated setups make your head hurt? Sony's DAV-FC7 Dream system may be the reality for your home-theater fantasies. The compact set features a slot-loading five-disc DVD-Video changer with built-in surround-receiver abilities and color-coded speaker terminals, five satellite speakers, and a separate subwoofer designed to work in concert to deliver spectacular video quality and exhilarating, full-bodied surround sound from both DVD and Super Audio CD (SACD) music sources.

Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the DAV-FC7 stands ready to deliver the full potential of your DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Choose from progressive-scan component-video outputs, composite-video, or S-video outputs. (Older TVs may require an RF modulator or video switcher to convert composite- or S-video to a threaded RF coaxial jack.)

Whether watching a DVD or discovering the sonic benefits of SACD, you'll enjoy the DAV-FC7's outstanding, 100-watts-per-channel audio performance (across left, center, right, left/right surround, and subwoofer outputs) from Sony's S-Master full-digital amplifier. Depending on the discs, SACD music releases provide super high-fidelity multichannel and/or stereo sound, using a high-resolution 1-bit converter to exceed the quality potential found in the standard 16-bit compact disc. For added convenience, the system also offers MP3 file playback and JPEG image CD slideshows so you can get the most from your favorite digital media right in the comfort of your living room.

After just minutes of setup time, you can enjoy the DAV-FC7 from the repose of your easy chair with the supplied easy-to-operate Remote Commander remote control. Auxiliary connections include secondary composite- and S-video sources for a camcorder, gaming console, or VCR and a headphone jack.

What's in the Box
DVD player/integrated surround amplifier, five satellite speakers, five short speaker stands, a passive subwoofer, a remote control (RM-SP900), remote batteries, a user's manual, and all requisite cabling.

♥♥♥♥ Be Aware!
Sony isn't what it use to be! BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY or PAY for repairs when the manufacture warranty is up. Sony customer service reps state that Sony entertainment systems should last longer than 1 year and 2 weeks, but (& it's a bit one), in the age of "digital" to be assured of the unit lasting longer than that, you should purchase the extended warranty (as an insurance policy, just like life insurance for your kids because you never know when they're going to die - really....that was actually said to me by a Sony customer service rep). Also told that Sony is superior quality over "disposable" systems that cost less, but what does that matter if the system doesn't work after a year.
My conclusion is you might as well buy a cheaper unit and replace every year!
