Sony KV32FS16 32" Triniton WEGA TV (gray) description Not too long ago, 27-inch TVs were considered luxurious compared to the industry's 19-inch standard bearers. Now it seems as though families demand at least a 32-inch TV for watching special effects extravaganzas on high-quality DVD or satellite TV. Enter the Sony KV-32FS16 32-inch Trinitron flat screen TV, which offers a host of high-end picture enhancements that will satisfy even the most demanding movie fans. In addition to such Sony essentials as a three-line digital comb filter (minimizes dot crawl and blurred colors) and a magnetic quadra pole (decreases beam spot distortion and improves corner-to-corner focus), the TV also includes a two-tuner picture-in-picture, so viewers can watch two programs at once, and a Freeze Memo feature that pauses an image onscreen so the user can examine it in a picture-in-picture window while still watching another program. Other picture enhancements include velocity scan modulation, which creates refined edges around the objects on the screen, and the combination of Dynamic Focus and Dynamic Picture circuitry. The end result is a crisp, clear picture with vibrant colors and sharp resolution. Parents can rest easy with the built-in V-chip, which lets them restrict the programming their children watch based on preset ratings, while the hearing impaired will appreciate the closed captioning option. The TV also offers several custom picture modes (including vivid, standard, sports, and movie), a 16:9 aspect ratio, an express tuning system, SpeedSurf rapid channel scanning, up to seven favorite channels, and adjustable color temperature (gives colors a blue, white, or red tint based upon the lighting of the room). The KV-32FS16 comes loaded with several essential audio features, including a built-in 10-watt speaker system (5 watts x 2), Matrix Surround multichannel surround audio, an MTS stereo decoder with DBX noise reduction, and a Steady Sound automatic volume leveler. The combined audio options let the viewer listen through the built-in speakers, select an outside audio source, and even listen to an alternate audio broadcast of the same program (SAP) when available. The TV connects to a host of additional components through its component video input (ideal for DVD players), three composite inputs (one front and two rear), S-video input, two RF inputs, and single audio output.
