Audio features
You'll get Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel outputs--hook it up with your surround-decoding AV receiver to enjoy immersive, multichannel surround sound; setup requires a surround speaker system as well. No such hookup is required, though, as you can always listen through the unit's front stereo speakers. SAP (second audio program) gives you alternate-language or other audio programming on specially encoded broadcasts.

Connections
Front AV input jacks let you plug in a camcorder, gaming console, VCR, or other device, and rear AV output jacks can feed a VCR or an AV receiver. Similarly, a coaxial (single RCA tip) digital-audio output fosters hookup with a surround-decoding AV receiver.
