The unit--which supports MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, and FLAC audio formats and is compatible with secure WMA-DRM9, WMA-DRM10, and Napster to Go music services--is relatively compact, with a black housing that measures a mere 1.9 by 4.1 by 0.7 inches (W x H x D). More significantly, the unit holds up to 12 GB of music files (enough space for roughly 250 albums), so you have plenty of room to create a killer soundtrack whether driving across the country, backpacking around the world, or simply working out. Audio playback options include repeat play (one or all songs), shuffle, repeat shuffle, folder, repeat folder, and resume, along with the ability to customize your own playlists or cross-fade between songs. And navigation couldn't be easier thanks to the magnetically mounted scroll wheel and the ultra-sharp 1.5-inch, 65,000-color TFT LCD screen with a 176 x 132 pixel resolution. Though the vibez is primarily designed for music, the unit also offers a built-in JPEG viewer with a sorting function based on picture data. Need to empty your camera's media card to create more space? Simply dump the photos on the vibez, where you can view them individually or in slide-show format. Listeners will also dig the integrated voice recorder, which lets them record voice notes, lectures, and interviews for later use. The unit even offers a line-in jack for recording from an external source, such as a CD player or cassette deck.
