Wagon Train
The Wagon Train series really deserves better than the release of just three episodes on DVD. Also, the transfer quality in my opinion is pretty poor, although the stories are watchable enough.
It is difficult to overstate the popularity of this series at the time of it's original showing in the late fifties/early sixties. The Ward Bond episodes ... »

The Island at the Top of the World (30th Anniversary Edition)
I happened on this film at a local video store and remembered on a hollow earth conspiracy list that this film was based upon the Eskimo legend that the lost viking colony of Greenland actually did not die out, but went north where there was more game and food.

Made at the height of the Black Power movement in America, the film has an unmistakable militancy in its story of a wagon-train guide and a con man who team up to throw a posse of white nightriders off the trail of escaped slaves. Poitier has never been a distincti... »

Hell to Pay
I picked this movie up because I love westerns. When the film started, I could tell I was in trouble as the production values seemed to be lacking and some wooden dialogue delivered during the stagecoach hold-up. Once I accepted the level of feature I was watching, I adjusted my expectations and tried to accept Hell to Pay for the low budget 60s or 70s... »
