Something to Sing About
I have seen unrestored versions of this movie and the picture quality of this particular DVD is pretty good. While it's still not perfect, I think they did the best with what they had and for the money it's a bargain.
As for the movie, it's a trite storyline, but there's a great Cagney dance sequence in the beginning and all of his charisma is on... »

Footlight Parade
Footlight Parade is one of the best early musicals starring the great Jimmy Cagney, Ruby Keeler, and Joan Blondell. Dick Powell also turns in a great performance and his singing is superb. 1933's "Picture Snatcher" is one I've waited to come out on DVD for some time. It's about a gangster (James Cagney) who decides to go straight and become a photographer for a scandal sheet. The complication in the film is that Cagney's character is in love with the daughter of the cop that arrested him and sent him to prison. Dad isn't as convinced as ... »

Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye
A little known and little seen film. A gem of a movie that should have a wider viewing audience. Barbara Payton and James Cagney make a dynamic duo when it comes to screen chemistry. This film provided Payton with a break through role that could have led to bigger and better parts had her private life not been her undoing. Cagney as always give a fine ... »
