Recently, my old TR81 (first Hi8) from Sony broke- the AF did not work any more. Of course the new Sony Hi8 338 is light years ahead of my almost 15 years old camcorder. Bought this tested for a day, the picture quality is awful. Recorded video had lots of grains in medium lights (even in a small room with 100 watts bulb), more yellowish even in bright (sun) light. Hoped the one I got might be bad, and exchanged for a new one. That was also the same quality.
